Keeping design projects on track at Symplicity for nearly four years
Project manager coordinating with internal groups and many college clients to keep design projects moving for a higher-education software company.
The engagement
Symplicity builds career-services and student-engagement software used by universities. From June 2018 to March 2022 I was a project manager on the team, focused on design projects delivered to college clients.
What I did
- Coordinated across internal groups and a large number of colleges to keep each design project on schedule.
- Kept the client side informed and unblocked: gathering requirements, chasing approvals and managing revisions.
- Maintained the tracking that let the team see every active project at a glance.
Why it matters
Nearly four years on one team is a long time in freelance work. It reflects the approach I bring everywhere: learn the systems fast, own the follow-through, and be the person clients want to keep around.
