The engagement
An author and small business owner hired me through Upwork in early 2026 for a milestone-based contract that closed in February with client feedback.
What I did
- Milestone one: managed a consignment task with a collectibles marketplace and posted, screened and interviewed candidates for two open positions.
- Milestone two: ran outreach for the client’s book and delivered fifteen successful contacts, documenting the approach so the client could repeat it.
Why it matters
Fixed-price milestones are the honest way to scope small projects. Each one had a definition of done, and each was approved on delivery.
